Rope Access Malta

What we collect, and what we don’t

This site takes enquiries and reads photos and plans of jobs. Here is exactly what happens to both.

Who we are

Checkyourtraders Ltd, a company registered in Malta (C96484), is the data controller for Rope Access Malta. Rope Access Malta is a trading name, not a separate company. Registered address: 35 Strait Street, Valletta VLT 1434, Malta. Email: support@checkyourtraders.com.

What this site collects

1. Enquiries

If you ask for a site visit we ask for your name, email address, phone number, the property type and location, the kind of job, and whatever you write in the notes. We need those to contact you, to survey the job ourselves (free), to quote you ourselves where Checkyourtraders Ltd takes the job on, to introduce you to a vetted partner where that is the better route, and to tell you who your details went to. If you apply to join the trade network we ask for your company name, contact name, email, phone, discipline and coverage area. Both are handled by Netlify Forms and emailed to us through Resend. The lawful basis is your request: you asked us to get in touch.

2. Questions and photos you send to the assistant

The assistant reads what you type, and any photo, plan or PDF you attach, in order to work out what the job is and price it from this site’s rate card. We do not store your files. An attachment goes from your browser, through our server, to the service that reads it, and is gone when the answer finishes. Nothing you type in the assistant is stored either. Before a photo is sent it is resized in your own browser and its EXIF metadata is stripped — including the GPS tag recording where it was taken. That location never leaves your phone. The lawful basis is your request.

3. A hashed record that you asked something

To stop the assistant being abused, we count how many questions come from one internet connection each hour. Your IP address is hashed before it is used — we keep a scrambled fingerprint and two numbers, never the address itself — and the record is discarded when the hour ends. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in not having the service run up an unlimited bill.

4. Analytics

None. This site currently runs no analytics and sets no cookies. If that changes, this notice changes first and a consent bar appears before anything is loaded.

What we do not do

Who else sees it

ServiceWhat it handlesWhere
NetlifyHosts the site; receives and stores enquiry form submissionsUSA, under standard contractual clauses
ResendEmails each enquiry to us and an acknowledgement to youUSA, under standard contractual clauses
AnthropicReads your assistant questions and any attached photo or plan in order to answerUSA, under standard contractual clauses
Google FontsServes the typefaces. Loading them sends your IP address to GoogleUSA

Who your enquiry details go to

Only the people needed for your job, and, for partners, only if you leave the sharing box on the enquiry form ticked:

The box is optional. If you untick it, we still reply and can still take the job on ourselves; we simply will not introduce you to a partner. You can withdraw your agreement to sharing at any time by emailing support@checkyourtraders.com. That stops any further sharing; it cannot recall details a partner already holds, so ask the partner directly as well. Your enquiry is never published and never sold.

How long we keep it

Enquiries: until the job is closed and for as long as we may need to answer a question about it afterwards, then deleted. Assistant questions and files: not kept at all. Rate-limit counters: one hour.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. Email support@checkyourtraders.com. You can also complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta at idpc.org.mt.
